(via Estelle Getty.com) Sadly, today July 22, 2008 at 5:35 a.m. Pacific Time, we said our last good-byes to our little friend Estelle, who passed away and made her journey to the great beyond. Although it was a trip that she never wanted to take, she went gracefully, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her family and her very loving care-givers.

Estelle’s legacy will live on and on through the comedy and laughter she gave to us all, which will forever keep us laughing out loud.

Thing the first: Spaced: The Complete Series is out at long last. Region 1, in America, only years and years after it should have been released here. Still! New commentaries and extras and all the episodes. So worth your time and money. From the folks that would go on to give you Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz

Spaced: The Complete Series is now up for pre-order at Amazon.com for 42 bucks, down from the list price of $60 which is pretty cool. It’ll be released on July 22nd. Spaced! Region 1! At last!

I also got, from Dom, a wonderful gift recently. The New Annotated Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Short Stories. It’s a two volume set and the annotations are wonderful. They keep up the gentle fiction that Holmes and Watson are real and keep the tone of them light and tongue-in-cheek while still delivering good information and pointing out inconsistencies (and amusing with the reasons they suggest for them). If you like Holmes at all these are a must have (there is a third volume with the novels) and if you don’t know Holmes these are a good way to read them. I have book love.

NASA makes video using sound waves and animation to show magnetic fields. Sound controlled CGI and 3D composing? Yeah, NASA had some fun with this.

So from the recent CW upfronts here is the first trailer/look at the show, with some actors talking about character and so on. It looks horrible, and wonderful. I mean it has Aunt Beck and Lucile in it! LUCILE! Anyway… here ya go.
