Addendum

Before I shut down and don’t post again till tomorrow night (stupid jury duty) I want to share this almost forgotten bit of last night.

Vin and I walk into the bar. I know we are supposed to be upstairs so I spot the staircase in the back and head right for it. As my foot is about to hit the first stair Vin calls my name out loudly. I stop and turn. He’s by the entrance, staring at me.

“They’re carding,” he says just loud enough for me to catch it.

I shake my head, grin and walk back over. As I get in earshot of the guy at the door I smile.

“How… quaint,” I say as I fish out my ID. The guy thanked me, and shrugged. I shrugged back. He was just doing his job, I know. But, really. Quaint.
