Media notes.

So amazon is having a sports movie sale. Which, all right. I suppose. There are a few good movies on that list.

Which brings me to the first pondering: Field of Dreams: do people still like this film? I mean, personally for baseball movies I side with Bull Durham. But a lot of people still swear by Field of Dreams for the emotional context. I guess I played enough catch with my dad. Or something. Still Bull Durham is dirt fucking cheap here, so…

They are also having a horror movie sale still. This thing has a bit of every type of horror movie around. Totally cool list of stuff. And ’tis the season or something, right?

I’ve been reading, along with another book, Sacred Games. It’s a hell of a book. An interesting police novel and mob novel, in modern India. It’s just lush and full and well-paced. I am entranced by it. Would the book hold up if it took place in a country I knew like the back of my hand, in a culture I can quote chapter and verse about? Yeah, actually. It’s just well done. But adding in the immersion into a new, for me, culture and I have something really worth digging into here.
