More. Farscape.

July 16th, 2007 by APK

via the Post-Gazette: The “Farscape” franchise will live on as a live-action Web series. Sci Fi Channel executive Craig Engler confirmed that the company has closed a deal with The Jim Henson Company for a 10-episode webisode series. So far no stars or writers are signed to appear and no story plotted, but if successful, the project could lead to re-igniting the franchise on the air.

Also in development, “Farscape” actor Ben Browder and producer/director Andrew Prowse are creating the six-hour miniseries “Going Homer,” a modern take on “The Odyssey” about a 12-year-old boy who sees Greek and Roman deities walking among us. Young Homer and his father flee a custody battle and journey from Los Angeles to Ithaca, N.Y., encountering a mystical landscape along the way.

via GateWorld: Fans will return to the Farscape universe in an original Web series, set to be released on SCIFI.com. The 10-part series is executive produced by Brian Henson and Robert Halmi, Jr., and produced by The Jim Henson Company in association with RHI Entertainment. “The series will revive and expand the beloved Farscape universe,” according to the network.

No word yet on just which actors or characters will be involved in the project, or just when it will arrive.

via Broadcast Newsroom: The network will also launch new content on scifi.com’s broadband video site Sci Fi Pulse. The network will resurrect its popular space series Farscape on the Web with a 10-part webisode series. David Howe, executive vice president and general manager said some of the show’s original cast would appear in the webisodes, but would not comment further.

Also, thanks to Court who always finds the best articles. Well, many of them. Yes.

So what do we know? Not much. Brian Henson is in on this. 10 parts. Probably short episodes. Will we get Kemper back on board? Browder? Black? Rygel? Well… he’s in a box in a storage room so I guess he’ll be up for it.

Huh.

Interesting news of the moment, this is.
