I can not get behind this. There was no reason to remake this movie at ALL. Sure, Sean Bean is a decent choice I guess, but fuck man. This was one of the all time best psychological horror movies ever and they seem to have made it into standard fare. A happy young couple picks up a guy, he goes violent, the cops don’t seem to believe them, they have to hunt him down.

Lots of chasing and running and scared yelps and jumping and action-y scenes.

Everything the first didn’t need to overdose on because it was SMART.

Guh this annoys me. Go see the original and bask in the glory that is The Hitcher, before this mess comes out. Seriously.

P.S. - And yet I will probably rent this new one if only to give it a fair-as-possible attempt at winning me over.
